Questions and Answers About the 2024 Toyota bZ4X

The 2024 Toyota bZ4X is a compact electric SUV that has been the talk of the town since its arrival on the market and with good reason. As Toyota's first all-electric model to be offered here, the bZ4X embodies the brand's renewal and shows the direction Toyota will take with the rest of its lineup in the years to come. Here are answers to some of the questions we frequently receive about this model. Of course, if you have any other questions, we'll be happy to answer them!

What is the range of the Toyota bZ4X?

Of course, as with any electric vehicle, the question of range is the one most frequently asked about the 2024 Toyota bZ4X. To answer this question, it's worth pointing out that this model is offered in two distinct versions, each with a different range. Firstly, the entry-level bZ4X L and LE models are equipped with a 71.4 kWh battery and a single front-axle motor delivering 201 hp and 196 lb-ft of torque. This combination gives the bZ4X an official range of 406 kilometers and very respectable performance. The XLE AWD version at the top of the range benefits from a unique powertrain, with a slightly larger 72.8 kWh battery and a second motor installed at the rear, giving it all-wheel drive and boosting power to 214 hp. Thus equipped, the Toyota bZ4X can travel up to 367 kilometers on a full charge.

How can we recharge the bZ4X?

Recharging the battery of the 2024 Toyota bZ4X is a simple process that can be carried out in a number of different ways, depending on the facilities available nearby and your needs. In fact, there are three charging levels available with the bZ4X, distinguished by their speed.

Level 3 is the fastest, and the one to go for if you need to stop on one of your journeys. Stations of this type are usually found next to freeways and major urban centers. The bZ4X can accept a charge rate of up to 150 kW, which means that a low battery can be charged up to 80% in just 30 minutes with the front-wheel drive version and 1 hour with the all-wheel drive model.

Level 2 is the most popular, as most owners have a charging point of this type installed at their homes. This charging method uses a 240-volt socket and the vehicle's built-in charger to fully charge the bZ4X's battery in around 11 hours, meaning that a vehicle plugged in overnight will be ready to hit the road with full range the next morning.

Level 1 is more rarely used, but is a good solution for many. In fact, this charging method is the most economical, requiring no special equipment other than a typical 120-volt outlet. Its relative slowness (around 50 hours to reach 100%) is an obstacle for some, but drivers who mainly use their vehicle for short trips around town or who can charge at work may well use it as their main method.

What versions of the bZ4X are available?

The 2024 Toyota bZ4X is available in three trim levels and two engines, as mentioned above. The entry-level bZ4X L version is very well equipped despite its affordable price, as it comes standard with features such as smart key with push-button start, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, Toyota Multimedia with an 8-inch screen, a 7-inch multifunction display, dual-zone automatic temperature control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and 18-inch alloy wheels, among many others.

The LE version adds popular equipment such as heated front seats, heated steering wheel, radiant heating for feet and legs, an electric liftgate, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, a 12.3-inch screen for the infotainment system, and rain sensors for the windscreen wipers.

The XLE AWD version comes standard with other items such as wireless phone charging, different driving modes, additional USB charging ports, leatherette seat upholstery, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, a panoramic glass roof, and a luggage cover. An optional Technology Package also adds ventilated front seats, 20-inch wheels, a 360-degree camera, advanced parking assistance, and a JBL audio system, among many others.

What rebates are available for the bZ4X?

You've probably heard that many electric vehicles benefit from government rebates, and that's the case with the 2024 Toyota bZ4X. In fact, this model is eligible for federal and provincial rebates of up to $12,000. What you need to know about these rebates is that only the provincial rebate applies to leases. So, if you decide to buy the bZ4X, you can receive a rebate of $12,000, of which $5,000 comes from the federal government and $7,000 from the provincial government. If you lease the bZ4X, the rebate is calculated according to the length of the contract, ranging from $1,750 for a 12-month lease to $7,000 for a lease of 48 months or more.
